My {5} year old!

I am so amazed that I now have a {5} year old boy! I know this is a little late but I wanted to wait until our Dr. check up for Slade's stats. Slade was born at 0625, Friday May 20th 2005. It is hard to believe that my 8.5 lb 22 in. baby boy is now 43 lbs and 44.5 in.  This baby taught me how to be a mommy and challenges me every day. He is very strong willed but very sweet.

We started out the birthday festivities on his actual birth date. I took off work the night before. I blew up a bunch of balloons and put them in his room while he was sleeping. When he woke up he was so surprised! He opened his presents right away. I cooked his favorite breakfast, pancakes and bacon.
He got a Ds! He was so happy. After hanging out for a little while, Brad and I took him to Memphis for a SLADE day. He wanted to eat at Joe's Crab Shack and then go to Incredible Pizza to play some games.
On the way home we picked up a ice cream cake. We ended our night with a piece of cake and a happy 5 year old.

The next day at school I took cupcakes and treat bags for the class. He was soaking up all this attention. On Sunday the 23rd, we had a party at Pump it Up. I was a little leery about having his party here but it turned out fabulous. They set up and cleaned up everything. It was awesome! Slade opted for a super Mario party. He is all about Mario these days. He even dressed up as Luigi when it was cake and present time. We enjoyed watching all the kids (and some adults too) play and bounce in all the slides and bouncy things!

My mother-in-law made the cake and I must say for her not knowing anything about mario she did a FANTASTIC job.

Slade: What you're up to these days
you wear size 5 clothes and size 13 in shoes
you are such a joker, you make people laugh every where you go
your smile is contagious
you say you are going to be a farmer when you grow up
you love dirt, sand, bugs, tractors and your brother
some of your fav foods are soft tacos, chicken nuggets, mac and cheese, strawberries, and sweet tea
you tell stories all the time and have the biggest imagination
you love for people to read books to you
favorite shows are scooby doo, phineas and ferb, & wow wow wubbzy
best friends are your cousin Autumn and Bo from school
you count to 30, recognize all letters, & write your first and last name
you prefer to stay at home with your stuff and the only place you have stayed over night at is Mammy's house (and you don't do that very often)
It is hard for me to accept that you are growing up. I want you to stay little and innocent forever! You will not be going to kindergarten in the fall and you are ok with that. No need in rushing you to be grown :)!
Momma and daddy love you so much. We are so thankful for you and how you have made us who we are today. MUAH baby boy!
